The ICO has recently disclosed details of the data security incidents reported to it between November 2016 and January 2017.

The key headline is that the total number of reported incidents decreased by 3.5% - something that we hope is indicative of a positive trend.

Interestingly there was also an 18% reduction in the number of cyber security incidents reported (contrasting with a 46& increase in Q2).  At the same time there was a 22% increase in incidents relating to loss or theft of paperwork.

Take a look.  I think this degree of regulatory transparency is good for industry and healthy as we move towards the new GDPR regime.
