At a recent round table event hosted by Foot Anstey, some of the leading tech businesses in the region considered what needs to be done to support the continued growth of the tech sector.
A key theme that arose from the discussion was the high demand across the sector for talented people with the right skills. Unfortunately, recruitment in certain regions has proved difficult due in part to a disconnect between the tech based courses offered by some higher education and further education providers and the skills requirements of tech businesses.
Tech businesses therefore need to educate the educators, telling them what skills they need the next generation to be bringing to the sector to ensure sustainable growth.
