We were very proud to be involved and co-creators (alongside Tällt and Adlib)  at the unveiling of the Disrupt SW index in Bristol yesterday evening.

The index shines a spotlight on new/existing ventures with a footprint in Bristol and the South West region with the potential to really disrupt existing economies and markets.  Measured using Tällt's 3-P Axis (focusing on the businesses' People, Products and Potential) the purpose of the Disrupt SW Index is to really showcase what's happening in the Bristol and SW region on the Tech scene (in particularly in the Disruptive Tech world) and enable businesses both on and off the index to really publicise at a local, national and international level how this part of the UK  punches well above its weight with regard to innovative and disruptive tech.

At the Index unveiling event last night (MC'd expertly by Matt Connolly from Tällt) we heard from three great businesses on the Index, Ultrahaptics, Habu and Wriggle as they spoke about their businesses and the disruptive effect they were having on their respective markets.  We then explored some big themes ranging from diversity within the tech industry in the SW; investment challenges for tech disruptors in the region; the societal impact on the local community with the advent of Industry 4.0 and collaboration between tech businesses and other sectors in the South West as part of a Q&A session chaired by us with panellists from Ultrahaptics, Funding Circle, TechSpark, OnCorps and Yellow Dog.

Ultimately this is the first in a series of Disrupt SW events which brings together the tech/disruptive tech community in the South West with more information to follow about the upcoming activities planned in the near future which build on the success of the Index and the themes arising from last night.
