The European Commission has published a Draft Withdrawal Agreement providing further clarity on the potential post-Brexit status of intellectual property.  The Draft Withdrawal Agreement (published on the 28th February 2018) has been submitted to the European Council for further discussion and will then be formally sent to the UK for further negotiation. Michel Barnier (European Chief Negotiator for the United Kingdom Exiting the European Union) stated in a press release following the publication of the Draft Withdrawal Agreement that they have not received any indication of Britain's position on intellectual property, therefore, negotiation of these issues has not been able to start.

We all wait with baited breath to see what the UK has to say about the European Commission's proposals.
