Farmers and land managers have one month to apply for the first round of funding to restore historic farm buildings on their land.

The historic buildings restoration grant is open for applications until 29 June 2018 and is an opportunity for farmers and land managers to restore eligible buildings within 5 national parks: Dartmoor, the Lake District, Northumberland, the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales.

This grant is a standalone capital grant available under the Countryside Stewardship and pays 80% of eligible costs towards restoration of eligible historic buildings up to a €2 million state aid limit.

The application process has 3 stages:

  1. Implementation plan (PA1) - your implementation grant application must be received by Natural England by 29 June 2018.
  2. Feasibility study (PA2) - you must complete this before the deadline for stage 3.
  3. Application for a historic building restoration grant - your application must be received by Natural England by 31 January 2019.
