As always Clean Technica rounds up a number of impressive news stories showcasing how buoyant the solar industry is at a global level.
Firstly, in California the Government has approved new building standards requiring nearly all new homes to have solar panels installed. Secondly, Tesla has announced it plans to triple its energy storage business in 2018 and thirdly, Indian Government has recently announced that it intends to build a 5GW (yes 5GW) solar park.
The pace of deployment and innovation across the globe is impressive and while there has been a lull in the UK we are pleased to be working with clients on a number of new solar and energy storage projects both in the UK and abroad.
The biggest rooftop solar news of the month was surely that California approved new standards requiring that solar panels be installed on the roofs of nearly all new homes, condos, and apartment buildings by 2020. One report already found that this would lower the cost of home ownership in California and another one increased California’s 4 year solar installation forecast by 14%. The news seemed to prop up the stock of solar companies like Vivint Solar and Sunrun as well.
