NEC has issued a set of amendments to the NEC4 suite of contracts published in June 2017. The amendments follow a period of discussion and feedback from users. I must admit they are not short and whilst quite a few deal with minor issues there are some material changes to note.
The paper produced by NEC explains most of the significant amendments that have been made and state which other contracts in the suite they apply to. The amendments themselves are available for each contract on the NEC contract website.
NEC has mentioned that new contracts are printed with the amendments included and that an updated version of the User Guides has also been produced to reflect the amendments.
For those who are currently in the process of using NEC4 on their projects the amendments are certainly worth visiting and it provides a really useful new update from NEC on how the suite has been received and is being developed. Please find below the link to the NEC website.
To build on the constructive feedback and further improve the contracts the NEC has published a set of amendments. Users should consider reflecting these changes in their upcoming tenders or existing contracts as amendments.
