Making sense of a muddled world

By Jessica Pitt

Two high profile speakers recently spoke at Foot Anstey's Exeter office, to debate and express their opinions of the current political and economic position the UK finds itself in.

Sir Peter Kendall, former President of the NFU gave insights from an agricultural point of view. The economy and business position was covered by Annie Gascoyne, the CBI's Head of Economic Policy, Tax & Fiscal Policy with Foot Anstey's Chairman Simon Gregory chairing the audience of over 70 delegates at Foot Anstey's Exeter office on Thursday 5 October.

Inevitably the event was predominately focussed on BREXIT, the state of the negotiations and the risk of no deal or indeed a bad deal was discussed.

Simon Gregory, Chairman of Foot Anstey wrapped up by saying: "Opportunities for our clients to get close to influential and respected speakers such as these are invaluable. Their thoughts and insights might not have solved the muddle the UK is in (who can!) but they did provide real help which will influence and aid business planning."
