Celebrating Farming with the Devon County Show

By Edward Venmore

The Devon County Show which starts tomorrow is hosting this year's Devon Farm Business Awards.  They report that this year there has been a record number of nominations which they think is 'a powerful signal that farmers in the county are beginning to see their real value in raising standards and celebrating excellence as the industry faces the challenges of Brexit.'

The awards are in their fifth year and 30 farmers and farming businesses have been put forward for an award this year covering almost every aspect of modern farming.

Our agricultural team will be at the show supporting the NFU and we look forward to celebrating all that is good about Devon and the industry.

“Looking through the list of the nominees is like looking at a roll-call, not so much of the great and good in Devon farming, but of the dynamic and enterprising. And it is particularly good to see many long-established family farms among them, because doing new and exciting things isn’t just the preserve of newcomers to the industry."
