Theft against the state - 'justified' due to climate emergency?

A court in Lyon has ruled that the criminal actions of climate protesters were justified due to the current climate crisis. The offence was a small one - removing the President's portrait from a registry office - but this is the first time a court has justified climate protesters' criminal actions.  I have no doubt the ruling  will be appealed but the rest of the world is watching.  The rise in climate protests and Climate Emergency declarations will only throw up more of these issues for our clients , the Government and the judiciary.
